In her interview Ahlam talked about the psychological impact early marriage had on her and the physical and verbal abused she experienced from her ex-husband, and how she also faced bullying from the society in which she lives.

"They made me drop out of school when I was a little kid and forced me into marriage. They made me take on great responsibilities I wasn't ready for."
